TEFL

Teaching English as a Foreign Language

Besides instructional design, another passion I have recently found is remotely teaching English to ESL students.

Presently, I am TEFL certified with both the 160hr Advanced TEFL certification and the 40hr Teaching English Online certification from the accredited company TEFL Fullcircle.

Teaching and developing lesson plans helps me to not only engage learners directly on a more personable level, but it is also a huge instructor for me in how learning theory carries over into different cultures. I generally do this between contracts/projects or on the weekends in my free time, and I have found it to not only be a great mental expansion but also an extremely rewarding an fun opportunity!

differences, and it gives me motivation to keep expanding

Below is a snapshot from one of my most used TEFL platforms to show my current progress. Continuing past this you will also find copies of my certificates, my most recent feedback report, and my favorite student comments from July 2020.

160 Hour Advanced TEFL Certification

I have taken and completed the 160 hour Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) course, which certifies me in TEFL and allows me to teach English as a foreign (or second) language to any country.

This is the highest level of certification the accredited company TEFL Fullcircle offers, and I am presently seeking further training to become more diverse.

FEEDBACK REPORT

I receive monthly feedback reports and ratings from students on my dashboard. Students from classes of this month will leave their feedback as to how they feel a specific class went and what my strengths and weaknesses were for them. This is not a requirement for classes, so not every student participates, but it is a good measure for me to see how I am doing and where I can improve.

WRITTEN STUDENT FEEDBACK

June 2020

Students sometimes opt to leave comments on top of their ratings to go into more detail of a specific class.
